Through Dvumisa Creative, our social enterprise, we believe that empowering women is an investment in stronger communities. That empowerment begins even before production does, with the women who crack marula nuts by hand and supply them to us. We purchase these nuts by the kilo, then press them into oil that becomes the foundation of our range. From there, women involved in our work are equipped with practical skills to produce high-quality natural skincare products, including handcrafted soaps, nourishing body butters and marula oil products. These products represent more than quality skincare — they represent opportunity, resilience and sustainable livelihoods, for every woman along the value chain.

Caregivers from the Singumndeni Programme

Singumndeni, a separate Kudvumisa Foundation programme, supports children with disabilities and their caregivers. Many of these caregivers face exclusion from traditional employment and economic opportunities, simply because their caregiving responsibilities don't fit the rigid structures of conventional work.

Some Singumndeni caregivers participate in the production of our marula range through Dvumisa Creative, gaining practical skills and a flexible source of income that works around their caregiving duties. It's an approach that recognises their labour at home as real work, and creates a path to economic participation that doesn't ask them to choose between earning an income and caring for their children.

Every product in the marula range is carefully handcrafted by these caregivers, whose dedication contributes to both their families' wellbeing and the success of the programme.
