As the seasons change, your hair and skin change too — moving from colder, drier weather into warmer conditions can leave skin feeling dry or oily, while hair grows brittle and more prone to breakage. It's the perfect time to give your routine a little attention.
But what does seasonal skin and hair care have in common with a nonprofit organisation that's creating economic pathways for underprivileged women? More than you'd think. Here's what to know about caring for your skin and hair this season — the Dvumisa Creative way.

Care for Your Skin
Changes in weather can affect your skin’s moisture and balance. Keep things simple: cleanse gently, moisturise regularly and protect exposed skin from the sun. Give extra care to areas such as your hands, feet, elbows and knees when they feel dry.

Do not Forget Your Hair
Dryness, breakage and an uncomfortable scalp can be signs that your hair needs more moisture and gentler care. Limit excessive heat, avoid hairstyles that put too much tension on your scalp and keep your hair moisturised. Natural oils such as marula oil can also be incorporated into a simple hair and skincare routine.

Dvumisa Creative offers an amazing range to support your skin and hair as the seasons change. Our social enterprise, created as part of our nonprofit's economic development projects, offers marula oil products, body butters, and handmade soaps — crafted with natural ingredients and a purpose that runs deeper than the product itself.

The value chain begins in Lubombo, where women gather after marula season — a time of year loved locally for its beer and festivities — to crack the dried nuts and sell them to us by the kilo. We press these nuts into oil and transform it into a range that cares for your body without harsh chemicals, while every purchase you make flows back into sustainable livelihoods for the women behind it.
As the season changes, take a moment to notice what your hair and skin need, and keep your routine simple — the way nature intended.
